Ganglionic Cyst Draining, Callus Trim, Hammertoe Repair, and many Others
When it comes to promptly diagnosing and treating your foot or ankle problems, the podiatrists at Cincinnati Foot & Ankle have cutting-edge skills and technology at their disposal. These include:
Callus Trim: Calluses can cause pain and may lead to blisters and ulcers. If you have diabetes or other conditions, you may qualify for regular nail trim by one of our podiatrists. Please come see a Cincinnati Foot & Ankle Care podiatrist to see if you qualify. Your podiatrist will also provide further care for this, which may include X-rays, shoe gear recommendation, orthotics, and surgery.
Cortisone injections: Several conditions such as arthritis, neuroma, gout, and tendinitis may require a cortisone injection. These can be performed in our office. Your Cincinnati Foot & Ankle podiatrist will evaluate you and provide recommendations.
Foreign bodies: Common foreign bodies include splinters of wood, plastic, glass and metal. Do not attempt to remove foreign bodies at home. Doing so usually pushes it further and requires deeper incision for removal. It is important to see your Cincinnati Foot & Ankle Care podiatrist as soon as possible for easier detection of the point-of-entry. Failure to remove the object may lead to infection, and other complications. Cincinnati Foot & Ankle Care locations have X-ray and ultrasound imaging equipment for locating a foreign object. In most cases, a simple procedure can be performed in the office to remove the foreign object. In some cases, it may be necessary to bring patients to the operating room.
Ganglionic Cyst: These fluid-filled lesions can be drained in our office. Your Cincinnati foot and ankle care podiatrist will perform x-rays, and other necessary workup, recommending in office drainage versus excision of the cyst.
Hammertoe repair: Depending on the severity and flexibility of the hammertoe, some are amenable to being repaired in-office. A tenotomy is a procedure in which the tendon either on the top or the bottom of the toe is transected. This releases the contracture causing the hammertoe deformity, thus straightening the toe. An evaluation by your Cincinnati Foot & Ankle Care podiatrist would be able to identify if you are a candidate for a tenotomy procedure.
Heel Pain Injections: Your Cincinnati Foot & Ankle Care podiatrist may recommend a cortisone injection for your severe plantar fasciitis and these can be performed in our office. Your podiatrist will also perform X-rays and other necessary workup and discuss other treatment options based on the severity of your symptoms and underlying causes, including orthotics, night splint, walking boot, stretching, icing, physical therapy, PRP injection, shockwave therapy, and surgery.
Toenail trimming: If you have diabetes or other conditions, you may qualify for regular nail trim by one of our podiatrists. Please come see a Cincinnati Foot & Ankle Care podiatrist to see if you qualify.
